    Mutual benefits of two multicriteria analysis methodologies: A case study for batch plant design

    This paper presents a MultiObjective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) optimization framework for batch plant design. For this purpose, two approaches are implemented and compared with respect to three criteria, i.e., investment cost, equipment number and a flexibility indicator based on work in process (the so-called WIP) computed by use of a discrete-event simulation model. The first approach involves a genetic algorithm in order to generate acceptable solutions, from which the best ones are chosen by using a Pareto Sort algorithm. The second approach combines the previous Genetic Algorithm with a multicriteria analysis methodology, i.e., the Electre method in order to find the best solutions. The performances of the two procedures are studied for a large-size problem and a comparison between the procedures is then made

They were developed to interactively simulate the problem in order to propose part of the solution to the user. In organizations, decision making processes generally involve a group of individuals, rather than just one person. Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS) are designed to support groups involved in a decisional process. We develop a 5 years empirical investigation that is giving us broad and deep insights to characterize activity and offer an effective support for group decision making and collaborative activity of caregivers. We based our conception of annotation tool on the observations of the rich writing practices of medical professionals. We rely on the innovative strategy of intermediate management to introduce a new technology able to bridge heterogeneous valuable data flows that address both management support and activity support into a single tool

    Des Systèmes Interactifs d'Aide à la Décision aux Systèmes Coopératifs d'Aide à la Décision : Contributions conceptuelles et fonctionnelles

    Decision Support Systems are designed in order to support decision makers in organisations. This support is strictly linked to an improvement of the efficiency of the made decisions rather than the effectiveness. The decision making process is then seen as an interaction between the man and the machine and the automation of this kind of process is not feasible. We show in this work how the introduction of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) changed the decision making processes in organisations. The decisional context evolves from a mono decision maker to multi decision makers, each of them having to interact and to cooperate with the others. Based on this hypothesis we studied this new decision making processes: multi actors working in asynchronous and distributed situations. These processes are then defined as cooperative. We then show how the Decision Support Systems are not adapted to these new needs and we make the proposal of a new kind of framework called Cooperative Decision Support Systems able to support these processes of decision making. This framework is based on the proposed architecture by Sprague and Carlsson.Les travaux présentés dans ce mémoire se situent dans le domaine de l'Aide à la Décision. Les Systèmes Interactifs d'Aide à la Décision (SIAD) sont développés afin d'aider au mieux les décideurs dans les organisations. Cette aide doit se traduire par une amélioration du la qualité de prise de décision plutôt que par une amélioration de son efficacité. Le processus de décision assisté par des SIAD est alors envisagé comme une succession d'aller / retour entre le décideur (utilisateur) et la machine ; l'automatisation de tels processus n'est donc pas envisageable. Nous montrons dans un premier temps comment l'introduction des Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication (TIC) vient considérablement modifier les processus de décision dans les organisations. Basé sur ce constat, le nouveau contexte de prise de décision, c'est à dire en situation asynchrone et distribuée, est analysé. Le contexte de décision évolue d'une situation mono-décideur en situation multi-acteurs, chacun des acteurs devant interagir voire coopérer avec les autres. Ce type particulier de coopération pour la prise de décision est étudié. La prise de décision est alors définie comme un processus de décision collaborative. Nous montrons en quoi les systèmes coopératifs actuellement développés ne supportent pas efficacement ce type de processus coopératif. Pour ces nouvelles organisations de travail, nous définissons de nouveaux outils, atelier logiciel, capables de supporter ces processus de décision : les Systèmes Coopératifs d'Aide à la Décision (SCAD) basés sur l'architecture classique des SIAD proposée par Sprague et Carlsson
